Description of CME Course
Overview The Systematically Testing the Evidence on Marijuana (STEM) project is a web-based, independent, methodologically rigorous, and updated cannabis evidence resource for the health care sector that empowers health care providers to have evidence-based discussions about cannabis use with their patients. STEM is a collaboration between the Veterans Rural Health Resource Center/Office of Rural Health and the Center for Evidence-based Policy at Oregon Health & Science University.

- understand basic terminology about cannabis including formulations, routes of administration, dosing, and key cannabinoids
- describe to patients what is known about the effects of cannabis on conditions such as chronic pain and post-traumatic stress disorder
- define the prevalence of and risk factors for cannabis use disorder
- understand health effects of cannabis in specific subpopulations such as pregnant women and adolescents/young adults
