Description of CME Course
Cardiologists are increasingly finding themselves subject to scrutiny, investigation, audits and medical malpractice claims for cardiac procedures deemed unnecessary after the fact. This monograph will provide an overview of the relevant claims data, peer-reviewed literature and professional guidelines relating to indications of procedures. This will include a look at the intent, limitations and strength of evidence for guidelines. The purpose is to present and substantiate a set of concrete recommendations to reduce risk for both patient and cardiologist in a rapidly changing practice environment.
