Description of CME Course
The role of racism in the history of modern medicine is unpleasant and difficult to discuss. These chapters, however, continue to have an impact on disparities in health outcomes in the US and must be addressed head on if our goal is to provide excellent and equitable care for all patients. While the social determinants of health that are related to income and education are more often discussed, the impact of the construct of race must also be called out and addressed explicitly. This webinar (previously recorded on October 21, 2020) explores the history of racism in medicine and discusses combatting racist ideas, messages and stereotypes, and providing more consciously equitable care.
