Description of CME Course
The act of sorting patients according to the urgency of their need for care, known as triage, is not limited to the ED. There are no formal EFM triage recommendations or clinical guidelines from ACOG, SMFM, or AWHONN regarding this skill. Although the majority of obstetric triage encounters include an assessment of both mother and fetus, under certain conditions, clinical data regarding either of them or of both may be unavailable. In these cases, EFM triage is indicated. This activity provides an EFM Triage model for swift and accurate EFM interpretation when there is no clinical information about the mother or her pregnancy.
