Description of CME Course
This module briefly touches on the etiology and symptoms of early/localized and disseminated Lyme disease, but the key focus is to help physicians navigate interactions with patients who have prolonged and unexplained symptoms and concerns about Lyme disease. This includes reviewing what is not helpful (more antibiotics without clear indication), what is helpful (open communication, ruling out other diseases, focusing on symptom management, being empathetic), and avoiding biomedicalization.
Visit Improving Care for Patients with Prolonged Symptoms and Concerns about Lyme Disease: A Clinician Toolkit for additional resources on how to provide better care for patients with prolonged symptoms and concerns about Lyme disease.
